Police apprehended a Taunton man for allegedly not taking proper care of his pets.

Carlos Rivera, 60, is suspected on animal cruelty charges after a dog and pair of cats were found amidst roaches and fecal matter on October 7, 2006 in a bedroom at his Hodges Avenue residence. The pets' dishes were also inundated with insects.

Animal Control came to assist at the scene.
