CONVICTED: Was justice served?
more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

Defendant/Suspect: Andrew Gaudin
Andrew Gaudin, 20, of Goderich, Ontario pleaded guilty in the Ontario Court of Justice, Goderich on September 11, 2006 to the Criminal Code of Canada charge of causing unnecessary injury to a cat.
In April 2006, Ontario SPCA investigators were notified of disturbing photographs featuring an individual appearing to be torturing a cat. The photographs were seized by the Society with a Criminal Code search warrant on April 4, 2006 and individuals appearing in the photographs were questioned.
The disturbing evidence in the photographs shows a domestic shorthair grey tabby cat with white markings beaten or bludgeoned in the face. The cat is observed in different locations, including outside and on a garage floor, surrounded by a large amount of blood spattered from the catÕs head.
Other photographs depict Gaudin holding the cat up high in the air by its head, upside down by its hind legs and hanging with a cord tied around its neck Š blood exuding from the cat's mouth and nose.
As a result of the investigation, charges were laid by Ontario Provincial Police in conjunction with the Ontario SPCA.
Andrew Gaudin was sentenced to six months in jail, two years probation upon release, and two years prohibition from owning or having the custody or control of an animal or bird.
Sadly, the cat died as a result of his injuries.
