A 26-year-old Reno man was jailed during the weekend on charges of battering his wife's 13-year-old sister and throwing the girl's dog from a second-floor landing, police said.
The girl was placed into foster care on Sept 24 by social workers.
Police said the dog named Scraps suffered a broken pelvis after being dropped 12 feet.
Naeem Elliott was booked that Saturday afternoon into the Washoe County Jail on suspicion of child abuse, domestic violence and animal cruelty.
Officers arrested Elliott at an apartment in the 4600 block of Sierra Madre Court. He had been in an argument regarding the girl and her two older sisters, who were living with him and his wife, police said. References |
