Investigators said his internal injuries were massive.
Dayton police said they have a suspect they believe shot the cat and are seeking animal cruelty charges against that person.
Animal cruelty officials at the Humane Society said there are ways to deal with stray cats in neighborhoods.
Sharon Exline of the Humane Society, " We work out a plan to take live traps to them and then trap the cats and bring them here."
It is not known if Rocky will survive but there are plenty of cats and kittens at the Humane Society in need of a good home and they run on donations.

Case UpdatesThe cat rescue workers named Rocky that was shot by an arrow last week on Kelly Avenue has died.
Now police want to find the person who did it.
Rocky the cat was found shot last week outside some apartments , and so far, no one has been arrested in the case.
Animal cruelty officers said they have leads in the case and that they have learned at least one other cat had been shot , too.
Rocky had been found bleeding with an arrow shot straight through his abdomen.
Humane Society veternarians were able to remove the arrow , but the severity of the injury was too complicated and Rocky died of complications.
One neighbor that lives in the Kelly Avenue area said her cat was attacked a few days before Rocky.
Patricia Groves said she saw news reports about Rocky and could not believe it had happened again.
Her husband found their cat, Lyle, injured last week and said he also found an arrow just like the one that killed Rocky.
Lyle's left leg had to be amputated.
He is recovering at a private animal hospital and is expected to survive.
Groves , who could never have children , said her cats are like her children, and she just wants the attacker caught. | Source: WHIO - Sept 6, 2006 Update posted on Nov 12, 2006 - 10:42PM |
