Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!
Henrico County police are looking for a man seen dragging a dog from his vehicle, repeatedly running over it and killing it outside a Walgreens drugstore along Mechanicsville Turnpike.
Police said the crime occurred Aug. 2 at 5 a.m. after the man left the drugstore in the 3700 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike.
Henrico police Lt. Doug Perry said the man was seen driving a faded gray Chrysler New Yorker that needed a paint job.
The dog is described as a red chow with a green collar and had some orange plastic in its fur, according to a police news release.
"It's awful," Perry said. "We have no idea what prompted the guy to do this. He appeared to be a normal person in the store."
The man is described as white, in his 40s, about 160 pounds and less than 5-foot-8. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and khaki pants.
