Case Updates: 1 update(s) available

Firefighters save four puppies tied to trees in Lamar County. A brush fire had been set nearby in an attempt to kill the dogs, investigators believe. The puppies, all less than six months old, are now at the Barnesville animal shelter. Firefighters say they found two of them tied to trees with chains, and two other dogs tied up with Christmas tree lights. Firefighters think the puppies would have died had they not responded to the brush fire. The dogs will be available for adoption. A good samaritan paid for them to be spayed or neutered.

Case Updates

The Humane Society of the United States is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for tying four puppies to trees then setting the woods on fire in Milner, Ga.

According to WSB Channel 2 news in Atlanta and the Lamar County Sheriff's Office, when firefighters responded to a brush fire on Liberty Hill Road on August 13th they made a surprising discovery. Someone had tied four puppies to four separate trees using chains and Christmas tree lights before igniting the blaze. Fortunately, all four puppies were rescued uninjured and are awaiting adoption at the Barnesville animal shelter.
