Police are looking for the owner of a baby goat abandoned this week, possibly by a dark-colored SUV. Police said witnesses heard the goat crying after the SUV left the area on the night of Aug 9.

Police said abandoning an animal is considered animal cruelty and a misdemeanor if it's a first offense.

The goat was taken to the New Hampshire Society for Prevention to the Cruelty of Animals in Stratham.

Anyone with information about the goat is asked to call Exeter police.
