more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

Cat kicked in the head, strangled San Rafael, CA (US)Incident Date: Tuesday, Feb 28, 2006 County: Marin
Disposition: Convicted
Defendant/Suspect: Danh Phi Huynh
A man was sentenced to five years and eight months in prison in late July 2006 for assaulting his ex-girlfriend and choking her cat.
Danh Phi Huynh, 35, of San Francisco, was charged in March with assaulting the ex-girlfriend, making criminal threats, animal cruelty and dissuading a witness by force or threat.
The investigation was launched after the ex-girlfriend returned from vacation to find the cat bloodied under a table in her San Rafael home. Huynh had agreed to feed the cat while she was away for a week and he was found with bites and scratches on his arm, according to court documents.
The cat was taken to a pet hospital, where a veterinarian determined it likely had been kicked in the head and chest and strangled.
Court documents revealed that Huynh had a history of physically and emotionally abusing the ex-girlfriend and threatening her. References« CA State Animal Cruelty Map « More cases in Marin County, CA
