Three hundred roosters were confiscated in southeast Houston on July 27. The Houston Humane Society received a tip about a cockfighting ring in the 10200 block of Monroe Road near Saylynn Lane.

Officials said someone leasing the property granted the Humane Society permission to take the animals.

No cockfighting charges were filed because they were not caught in the act of cockfighting.

Officials said cockfighting paraphernalia was found on the property.
