A 45-year-old man was cited on suspicion of animal neglect at 10:46 a.m. July 15 at International House of Pancakes, 8445 N. Cerius Stravenue. Police found a dog on the floorboard in the man's van. The windows had shade coverings and were open about 4 inches. According to the report, the temperature outside the van was 97 degrees. An officer got the dog out of the van and gave it some water.
