When the Weld County sheriff's deputy came to the mobile home located in the Ponderosa Mobile Home Court he found 42 cats in the home. Marilyn Patton, 62, and her son, Timothy Clark, 30, had no proof of rabies shots or city animal tags for the cats.

The authorities had to wear face masks to eliminate some of the awful stench of cat feces and urine. The mobile home was condemned again, it was also condemned in 1993.

The mobile home was condemned because of cat feces, urine, garbage and trash. The city ordinance does not limit the number of pets a person may have. The cats were removed from the mobile home because of the unsanitary conditions.

Marilyn Patton and Timothy Patton were charged with no proof of rabies shots and no city animal tags, all are city code violations. They will both be required to appear before a municipal judge to face 42 charges for each offense.

In the 1993 cat seizure there were 80 cats removed from Marilyn Patton's mobile home. At that time her mobile home was condemned. When the 80 cats were seized, 24 were adopted by new owners and 31 had to be euthanized.

Out of the 42 cats seized in the 1997 raid, three were euthanized. The others will be placed for adoption.
