Officers say they stopped James Flowers Jr. and William Hollnagel on Highway 242 as they were riding their horses. They had reportedly just been kicked out of a bar for drinking too much.

Authorities say the men had been riding the horses all day, and the animals were exhausted and dehydrated. Both are charged with public intoxication and animal cruelty.
