Leroy Delaney and Devri A. Japngie trained seven pit bull dogs "to engage in animal fighting for amusement or gain," according to criminal complaints filed in Utica City Court.

The pair agreed to a reduced plea of animal abuse in Utica City Court in December and were sentenced to 6 months of house arrest, Collver said. They were also fined $225 and ordered to pay $275 to Stevens-Swan for the care of the dogs.
