more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

Approximately 7,000 animals found during raid Boyertown, PA (US)Incident Date: Saturday, Dec 19, 1964 County: Berks
Disposition: Convicted
Defendant/Suspect: John Dierolf
On December 19, 1964, animal dealer John Dierolf of Boyertown, Pennsylvania, had just returned the night before from a Green Dragon sale with hundreds of dogs and cats jam-packed into chicken crates and a truck load of puppies he left outside in 12 degree temperatures. He was in for a surprise. A seven-person team awaited him, among them, Fay Brisk.
Armed with search warrants and accompanied by a constable, they entered his property and found an estimated total of 7,000 animals, including the mice, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigeons. Many of the dogs were jammed into small pens, trampled, sick with distemper. Many of the hundreds of cats were already dead.
He was arrested, paid a $67 fine ($50 plus costs), and was soon back in business, but the raid got press coverage, led to a stronger Pennsylvania dog law, and prepared the way for a Federal law. References« PA State Animal Cruelty Map « More cases in Berks County, PA
