In 1961, a half dozen authorities raided the property of research breeder, Lester Brown. Frank McMahon, chief investigator of The HSUS, was instrumental in Brown's arrest on a charge of cruelty to animals, based on evidence at the southeast Maryland site.
The conditions he helped to uncover at that time led to Brown's conviction on charges of cruelty to animals. References |
