A 51-year-old woman helped police catch a 36-year-old man she said stole her dogs before trying to sell them back to her on June 1, 2006.

The woman said she let her two purebred pit bulls into her front yard on Kosner Street earlier this week and later found them missing. After putting up fliers around the neighborhood, she received a call from a man who said he had her dogs and would sell them back to her for $400.

Coordinating with police, she set up a meeting with the man about 8:30 p.m. near Kostoryz and Gollihar roads, where he was arrested on suspicion of theft by police. The dogs were returned to the woman.
