Police are trying to find the two men behind an early June 1 morning shooting and beating.
Officers say two men with guns walked up to a man and woman sitting on the porch of a house at 1525 Waverly at about 2:00 a.m. The gunmen ordered the man to go inside that "get the money."
The police report states that there was also a pit bull chained to the porch. The gunmen ordered the man to take hold of the dog and he did. But one of the gunmen hit the man, causing him to let go of the dog. One gunman shot and killed the dog.
The man who owned the house heard the shot and woke up. Officers say he came to the door, saw what was happening and tried to close the door. One of the gunmen shot him in the chest. He is in critical condition as of Thursday mid-day.
Police don't have much to go on. The description given to Eyewitness News was vague.
