3 men along with 2 juveniles stoned a dog to death in the Las Palmas subdivision outside of Harlingen, Texas while a crowd cheered them on.
The attackers were arrested and charged with animal cruelty on October 9, 1997. The adults went to trial on June 22, 1998 and were found guilty. They were sentenced on August 14, 1998.
Judge Migdalia Lopez, gave the juveniles a deferred prosecution, - if they follow the terms of their 6 month probation, they will not be prosecuted. References- The Brownsville Herald
