A disturbing possible animal abuse case for one Yakima neighborhood has some keeping a close watch at their pets.

Pet owner Ada Brown is trying to find out who's responsible for severely injuring her cat.

"I went out there this morning to tell them to put him to sleep because I couldn't stand his pain. I cannot imagine a person that would hurt an animal like that," pet owner Ada Brown.

Neighbors found the cat mangled.... Barely able to walk.

The vets tell Brown that someone most likely used a weed whacker or shears to injure the animal.

Brown has since decided to keep the cat alive.

She has also filed a report with police.
