Two dogs starved, one found dead

Citrus County Animal Services responded to a citizen complaint of a very skinny dog chained to a tree. Upon arrival the dog (Zuzu) as found dead.  Necropsy reports indicated the dog died of hypothermia secondary to starvation.  Pine needles, bark, sand, grass and a half of a beetle shell were listed as stomach contents. 

Another emaciated dog (Baby) was chained in the back of the property and was seized.   Case, photos and reports were send to the State Attorney who filed criminal charges against both pet owners.

The two were arrested, bail set at $4,000.00 each.
