State Police in Binghamton found more than guns during the search of a home on June 6.
Police say when they searched the home of Anthony Troianello, 30, and Janine Ashley, 24, they found 15 firearms, including three handguns, six assault rifles and a .50-caliber rifle capable of firing up to 2 miles - in addition to 200 animals.
The animals included 74 dogs, 12 cats, 5 pigs, 2 emus and more than 90 field birds such as peacocks and turkeys. It is estimated more than half of the animals have diseases.
Police and the Broome County Humane Society are examining them and continuing investigations into animal cruelty. Neighborhood MapFor more information about the Interactive Animal Cruelty Maps, see the map notes.
