A man who allegedly killed a kitten by swinging it above his head and smashing its head on the ground has been denied bail in a western Sydney court.
New South Wales police alleged Jamie Thorley, 23, was walking along Delaney Drive, Doonside with friends about 4.30pm (AEST) on May 31 when they came across a three-month-old cat.
He allegedly picked up the kitten before throwing it in the air several times.
It is then alleged he grabbed the animal by its tail and swung it above his head before striking it against the ground.
The kitten died a short time later, NSW police said.
Mr Thorley was charged with cruelty to animals, resisting police and malicious damage.
He appeared in Blacktown Local Court on June 1 where he was refused bail to reappear in the same court on June 15. References
