An alleged dog-fighting ring was broken up on the afternoon of May 25. Eight dogs were taken from a house on Miller Avenue. The dogs' owner showedthelocal mediathe kennels and said she has a license to breed the dogs. The woman said the dogs were not mistreated, and she plans to get them back.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said there is clear evidence that the dogs were bred to fight. Police said residents in the neighborhood tipped them off.
