A severe case of animal cruelty took the life of a family pet, and now the owner wants to know, what would cause someone to go out of their way to do such a horrible thing? Police are looking for the man who they say intentionally ran over a pet dog.
Earlier this week, Bernard Driessen was looking out his window. He saw a man speeding the wrong way on East Broad Street in Savannah. Driessen says the man intentionally drove his car over Driessen's neighbor's dog and killed it. "The car came down the street on the wrong side, just to kill a dog," he said. "That's real cruel you know. I'm a dog owner myself. It's just sad when people do stuff like that."
The car police are looking for is a four-door, dark green 1997 or '98 Chevy Impala. If you have any information, call police or CrimeStoppers at 234.2020.
