Police and wildlife officials are investigating a disturbing crime in Palm Springs. They're trying to figure out how two dead ducks found their way onto the hood of a vehicle there.
Palm Springs resident Griff Griffiths came out to his S-U-V on the morning of May 4, the remains of two mallards smeared onto his hood and windshield. Griffiths is a landlord and says he believes the person who did this may have been retaliating for an eviction. Neighbors say the former tenants in question were a couple who had apparently lived in the Skyview Drive neighborhood for years.
Griffiths says he's upset. "Terrible, I mean I see those birds walk across the street here all the time. They go from one swimming pool to another like pets. They're like pets in the neighborhood. There were 3 of them, now there's only one of them."
