Police and Wichita animal control officers are investigating an incident where a dog was reportedly found dead with a bag over its head, an official said today. According to a police report filed Thursday, a man said he found the 2-year-old female dog in the 500 block of New York. The dog has been described as a pit bull mix or shepherd/chow mix.

"We would like people to let us know if they have any information" that could help investigators, said Kay Johnson, the city's director of environmental services. The number to call is 268-8378.
