The owner of a Pomeranian puppy is still searching for the animal after four teenagers in a black BMW convertible allegedly stole him from the lake area at Mojave Narrows Regional Park.

Gizmo, who is 5 1 /2 months old and weighs less than t wo p o u n d s, i s white with lightbeige markings. He is named for his resemblance to a cute, furry character from the "Gremlins" movie. His owner, Jenni Ross, was fishing with her 7-year-old son at the lake when she let the puppy off his leash. "He kept chasing the geese, and we thought it was really cute, so I let him off," Ross said. "And then he was sleeping at my feet, and I look up, and he's taking off to say hi to these kids that we saw. They started yelling, 'Let's go, go, go!' and they took off."

Gizmo, a 5-month-old Pomeranian, was taken from her owner by a group of teens in a black BMW. Ross' son saw the teens pick up the dog and drive off.

Ross, a Hesperia resident, filed a report with the San Bernardino County Victor Valley sheriff's station and has put fliers up in the surrounding neighborhoods.
