When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.

Wayne Riley is scheduled to be sentenced for neglecting his sick dog. Riley pleaded guilty to animal cruelty in April 2006.
Riley admits, he didn't take his Siberian Husky to the vet, even though it was anemic, had heart worms, and a large tumor. The dog recovered and has a new home now.
Riley could get up to five years in prison.
Case UpdatesThe Hillsborough County Jail will be the "weekend retreat" for the next three years for a man convicted of Animal Cruelty.
Judge Barbara Fleischer sentenced Wayne Riley to 364 days in jail and stipulated that the time may only be served on weekends.
Wiley admitted that he failed to get medical treatment for his Siberian Husky "Nanook."
The dog had a huge tumor hanging off her jaw and was infected with heart worms.
The dog was seized and later had surgery to removed the tumor and was treated for the heartworms.
Nanook was successfully adopted and now has a loving home.
