Kitten thrown against concrete stairs
Lake Worth, FL (US)

Incident Date: Tuesday, May 2, 2006
County: Palm Beach

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Jose E Crespo

Angry over an argument with his roommate, a 40-year-old man threw his 1-month-old kitten into the concrete steps in front of his apartment, police said. Jose Enrique Crespo of 1332 S. Federal Highway told police he was sorry that he "blew his top" and threw the kitten in front of other residents at the apartment building.

He was charged with animal cruelty at about 6 p.m. on May 2 and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.

Residents tried to help the kitten, which was lying motionless on the concrete and bleeding from its nose, police said. Crespo had told them to stay away because it was his property, police said.

Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control had to euthanize the injured kitten. They took custody of its three siblings and its mother.
