Deputies are looking for whoever shot, stabbed and used a weedeater to hurt a dog in eastern Cabell County.

The incident was reported to deputies at 4 p.m. on April 25, when the dogs owner was found, according to a incident report filed with the Cabell County Sheriffs Department.

The dog a Great Pyrenees named Tucker disappeared on the afternoon of April 21 from its owners residence in the 1800 block of Charleys Creek Road in Culloden. The animal was then found on April 23 by a family living along Hudson Branch Road. That family attempted to provide medical attention, but could not find the owner until two days later.

The dog was then transported to the Tri-State Animal Clinic in Ceredo, where it was treated for those wounds and a six-inch long, deep laceration found under its tail. The dog was kept overnight at the clinic.

Clinic officials told deputies the animals injuries were likely no accident.

The dogs owner has also been the subject of intimidation and death threats during the past few months, but the report does not state how, or if, the dogs injuries are connected to those prior threats.
