In Dublin, there is the added problem of young people buying horses and ponies in the Smithfield market. Tony McGovern of the Dublin SPCA, who is featured in a new Animal Rescue series starting on RTE, said that so far in April 2006 they had three serious cases reported in one week in the Finglas area.
In a field there was a horse totally emaciated. He was taken up to the shelter and died a couple of days later, he was that bad.

Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
