A Belleville man is behind bars, after allegedly shooting a dog and attempting to sell drugs. Deputies arrested 37-year-old Donald Stephens on April 19 after animal cruelty complaints.

Officials say a domestic dispute spawned into threats to a cat and dog.

Deputies found a retriever mix that had been been shot outside the home and marijuana plants in the home.

Stephens is charged with cruelty to animals and possession with intent to deliver marijuana.

He's being held in the North Central Regional Jail on a $15,000 dollar bond.
