21 starving horses including the grandson of Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew are seized by the Sheriff`s Department. Sheriff Bob Elliot says when they seized the horses from Roxanna Baldwin, they found one dead horse at the house. The veterinarian who examined the animals says they could have been malnourished for several months. Baldwin was charged with five misdemeanor animal cruelty charges but reached a plea bargain. Under the agreement, Baldwin retains six of the horses. She cannot own livestock in Baylor County however during her two year probation. References | KFDX - April 13, 2006 |
