Dogs, snakes neglected Lawrenceville, GA (US)Incident Date: Wednesday, Apr 12, 2006 County: Gwinnett
Disposition: Alleged
Alleged: Bradley Jordan Paul
A Lawrenceville man was arrested on animal cruelty charges after two neglected dogs and snakes and a dead iguana were found inside his apartment.
Gwinnett County Sheriff's Deputy Shane Reinhardt was trying to serve 22-year-old Bradley Jordan Paul with a misdemeanor probation warrant when he discovered the animals on April 12. An agent from the leasing office allowed the deputy inside Paul's apartment, where the deputy was met with an overwhelming odor of feces, said Sgt. Ray Pelis of the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department.
In the bulldog and another mixed-breed dog's attempts to find food, the pets had strewn trash throughout the apartment. The interior was covered in feces and urine, Pelis said. The deputy also found a dead iguana and two snakes barely alive.
The dogs and snakes were taken into custody by Gwinnett County Animal Control. On Thursday, the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department Fugitive Unit obtained warrants for three misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals against Paul. He was arrested on April 14 at Kennesaw State University, where he was staying with a friend. References« GA State Animal Cruelty Map « More cases in Gwinnett County, GA
