There were 211 cats removed from the home of John and Dixie Bielenberg in September after neighbors phoned in many complaints of a strong odor coming from the property.
John and Dixie Bielenberg must pay the Macon County Animal Control Department $6,360 for the cost of euthanizing the 211 cats, and one dog, that were seized by the authorities.
The police said there were some parts of their home that had cat feces three to four inches deep.
The Bielenbergs have been prohibited from owning any cats or dogs in the future within the city limits.
The Bielenberg's attorney, Jerry Stocks, said the couple no longer owns any animals, but city attorney, John Robinson, said the couple still has four cats registered with the city. The officials will verify that they are honoring the agreement that they do not own any cats or dogs in the future within the city limits.
