A Clare County man faces more than a dozen counts of animal cruelty charges after police found seventeen severely malnourished and parasite covered horses living on his property. Animal control officers found the horses on a farm in Hamilton Township.

All of the horses were reportedlystarving with their ribs sticking out. Others were covered with lice, missing large clumps of hair, and their drinking water was frozen and dirty. A few dead horses were also found on the property. Prosecutors charged owner Kelly King with seventeen counts of animal cruelty. The county is now looking for help in providing feed and care for the animals.
