Declaring that a pet cat did not deserve to live, a Metairie man who had just locked his wife out of their apartment after an argument tossed the feline out of a second-floor window, authorities said.
Paul Buisson, 53, smelled of alcohol and appeared to be intoxicated when a Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputy arrived at Buisson's Independence Street apartment on March 25 about 9 p.m., according to a Sheriff's Office incident report.
Buisson had been arguing with his wife and threatened her, prompting her to leave the apartment, the report said. Buisson locked his wife out of the apartment and went upstairs, the report said.
Buisson turned his anger toward the couple's cat and threw it out of the window, the report said. The cat landed and ran away. The deputy was unable to find the animal to determine if it was injured.
Buisson was booked at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna with one count each of simple assault and cruelty to animals. References
