County: Richmond City

Disposition: Convicted

Defendant/Suspect: Ping Sum Leung

Animal control responded to a call for a dog bite.  The bite dog was seized for quarantine.  3 other dogs were seized for being unrestrained.  The trailer the dogs and their owner, Mr. Leung, lived in was inspected.  There was no shelter or water for the dogs.  Raw sewage was running out from under the trailer into the yard.  Mr. Leung was charged cruelty to animals, with having nuisance dogs and owning a dangerous dog.  The nuisance dog and dangerous dog charges were Nolle Prossed because he signed the dogs over to the city.  He was found guilty of cruelty to animals.

Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
