Two Anchorage men are accused of poaching two Dall sheep rams in Chugach State Park along the Seward Highway.
Authorities caught up with 53-year-old Robert McConnell and 43-year-old Douglas Perfetto after a witness chased them from the scene and got a partial license plate number. Each is charged with multiple counts related to the taking of two full-curl rams in February on a slope near Mile 104 of the Seward Highway.
Court documents also link McConnell to a Dall sheep that that died last November from unknown causes at about Mile 106 of the highway. Assistant attorney general Roger Rom says McConnell is not accused of killing that animal, but of possessing and transporting illegally taken game. References « More cases in Anchorage County, AK
