Violet Agnew, 70, has been convicted of neglecting dozens of animals in her Highland Park home. There were 30 cats and two dogs removed from her home earlier this month by the animal control authorities.

Agnew was convicted but will not be fined or see jail time because of a deal that was struck today. If she stays away from animals and enrolls in treatment, the charges will be dropped.

Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Jody Cametas said, "It was a scary situation for these animals, and like I said, Mrs Agnew, I believe was doing the best she could, and I believe this was the fairest way to resolve this for everybody."

Agnew had no comment.

Orlando was one of the dog's removed from Agnew's home. He is 7 years old and is doing well in his foster home until someone adopts him. "He's adorable, he's absolutely adorable."

Most of the cats are being cared for in an Oilville home.
