more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

Defendant/Suspect: Katherine J. Robertson
April 17, 2002 Animal Control received a call by a Sheriff Deputy for possible cruelty. Animal Control arrived and found a lab mix, emaciated, and unable to use its back legs. The dog was pulling itself around the yard by its front legs. It had food, water and shelter in the yard, but was unable to reach them. When the owner, Katherine Robertson was asked about the dog, she said that the dog had not been walking well since Easter. When asked if she had taken the dog to the vet, she said that she couldn't afford it. Ms. Robertson said she loved the dog and wanted him to die at home. The dog was seized and brought to the Shelter. He was examined by a veterinarian. The dog was humanely euthanized. Mrs. Robertson was found guilty of cruelty to animals. She received 30 days suspended for 3 years. She is not to own any animals for this 3-year period. She has to pay $100.00 restitution to the veterinarian and has 50 hours of community service to be done at the Animal Shelter.
