Two juveniles were arrested last night and a third is being sought after allegedly killing a duck in a public park in Palm Desert, said a spokesman with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department today. Authorities received a call that teenagers were killing ducks in a public park at about 7:30 p.m. March 19, 2006, said Cpl. Dennis Gutierrez, with the sheriff's department.
A deputy found the teens in the Palm Desert Community Park along Magnesia Falls Drive. The teens fled and the deputy gave chase, catching two of them, Gutierrez said, adding that the third got away. The two who were caught were arrested on charges of animal cruelty, resisting arrest and public intoxication, Gutierrez said. One duck was found dead.
Authorities are searching for the third teen, Gutierrez said. References« CA State Animal Cruelty Map
