(8/10/2004) There are several unprotected entryways in the large dog areas that need to have wind and rainbreaks provided.Have discussed the alternatives with owners today.

(6/03/2004) There is need to improve the drainage coming from the whelping house and the solids are being left next to the building foundation on the west with the liquids spilling out and around .Owners are aware of this problem and discussed the need to run drain line into the city sewer. This was stated by owners as a high priority item. Also found 2 plastic barrel /tubs under the drains of the next house to the southeast,these tubs were full and in need of being removed from as far as possible.

(6/03/2004) Found 100+ dogs below the minimum space required today. It must be noted that owners were preparing 80+ adults and puppies for auction 6-4-04 at Wheaton, Mo. These dogs were grouped for sorting and handling purposes however the pens occupied by these were below minimum space requirements today.

(6/03/2004) Found pen with broken wooden slat floor exposed to occupants .Sharps and jagged are present today. This was noted non compliant on 11-5-02 and today 6-3-04.This affects 3 dogs.

(6/03/2004) There is need for general removal of fecal and collected urine in wash downs and collected fecal from under the wire runs and slat enclosures. There are two outdoor runs with nursing mothers where fecal deposits were greater than 6" in height in the deposit area.

(6/03/2004) There is need for power washing the high population areas, the pens where the sale dogs are being held and any other pen needing cleaning. Collected fecal is to be removed each 24hrs.

(6/03/2004) Found owners frustrated with exploding rat infestation. Saw evidence of many active rat runs under outdoor edges of buildings and pens. Also saw where rats are entering building through the drain system in place today. Recommended to owner need to rotate rat poisons every 45 days until this resistance problem is broken.

(11/05/2002) Found broken wood slats in southwest Shepard pen,in southwest corner. he plastic coated wire standing as an upright, has an exposed corner that is a potential injury area. Repair or replace as needed.

(11/05/2002) There are four large breed dogs that are penned two per pen, each with a house that is to small for normal posturing. Add larger housing as soon as possible. Noticed that several wire floors flex with the weight of the adult as they walk about the pen. Ask that supports be added or supplied that prevents sagging or bending.
