A dog was stabbed with a pocket knife in a park March 18, 2006. The stabbing occurred in Paso Nogal park in Pleasant Hill on Morello Avenue and Paso Nogal at about 11:50 a.m., according to Pleasant Hill police dispatch. Police didn't know who stabbed the animal.

The dog that was stabbed might have been involved in an attack on another dog, county animal services Lt. Clinton Vidal said. Vidal didn't know the breeds of the dogs or their conditions.

Both dogs were taken to the Veterinary Emergency Center on Monument Boulevard in Concord with severe injuries. A doctor at the center would not comment about the dogs.
