Teresa R. Casci, 45, Minneapolis was reportedly living in a house full of garbage, feces and two dead dogs has been charged with child endangerment.

Animal control officers removed 12 dogs from the home. The police found one of the dead dogs in the basement.

Police responded to a call that two children were being cared for by a very intoxicated man. The police took the two children to their mother's home in the 3200 block of Bloomington Ave S. There were five children (ages 7 to 17) living in the home.

One of the police officers noticed a small kennel enclosing about 10 dogs at the back of the house. There were lots of flies on the windows and trash in the yard. The police asked to enter the home to check on the children. The mother, Teresa Casci, let them in, but they couldn't stay long because the house had a very strong odor and the interior of the home was filled with bugs in the air.

Later they went back into the home and found no working plumbing. A toilet was backed up with human feces, flies and maggots, trash was knee high in some areas. There was a mattress in one bedroom covered with cockroaches.

The children were taken to St Joseph's Home for Children in Minneapolis. Casci is being held in the Hennepin County Jail.
