The bones of three dogs with the leashes still attached were found in the yard of a north side home. The homeowner, Frank Nixon, is facing charges of animal cruelty.

Police say surveyors who were inspecting Nixon's property, because he wanted to sell it, found the dogs and called animal control. Officers then discovered two more malnourished dogs inside his home.
