Sherie L. Siemann, 42, called police to come to her home when her car had been stolen. When the police arrived, she ended up being charged with child neglect, animal mistreatment and a drug offense.

After the police arrived, the woman's teenage daughter told police about her mother's cocaine use. The police also found dead and malnourished cats and dogs in the very unsanitary home which was occupied by two young children.

Siemann is ordered to appear in court on April 15, 1998 to face three misdemeanor charges filed against her. The charges are child neglect, mistreatment of animals and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The 15 year old daughter started yelling at her mother when police arrived and called her mother "a coke head." The daughter ran upstairs and brought down cocaine-related paraphernalia which she gave to the officers.

The following day New Berlin police were contacted by a neighbor of Seimann's saying they were worried about the welfare of two children, 4 and 6 years old, as well as some animals.

One of the neighbors said there were two dogs and four cats that were kept in the basement without much food. Police returned to the home on Dec 18 ad discovered mummified remains of what appeared to be a cat in Siemann's feces ridden garage. The basement was also covered in feces; four cats were found there without any food or water.

Two dogs were in a cage which contained broken glass. One of the dogs appeared very thin and malnourished.

Some rooms in the house were so smelly that it was difficult for officers to breathe.
