Helen E. Lippy, 45, and Lyndey I. Beck, 84, of Salisbury will be charged with animal cruelty after 20 cats (10 of them dead) were found in a feces and garbage strewn mobile home.
The 10 dead cats, one dead mouse and a bird were laid out in animal casket sin a locked room.
When the sheriff deputies first went to the mobile home after receiving a complaint, there was a room they couldn't get into because it was locked. The second visit to the mobile home they entered the locked room and found the remains of the 10 cats, one bird and a mouse in the animal caskets.
Living in the mobile home was a dog and a 6-year old child. The child was placed in protective custody with the Wicomico County Department of Social Services.
The strong smell of urine and feces forced some deputies to go home to change their clothes after entering the mobile home.
