Dog with open wounds left without care
El Paso, TX (US)

Incident Date: Sunday, Mar 12, 2006
County: El Paso

Disposition: Alleged
Case Images: 3 files available

Abuser names unreleased

Sunday afternoon animal activists with the Animal Heartline of El Paso found a rottweiler tied up and badly injured.

Activists think the dog was attacked by a pit bull and his ear was literally ripped off and activists claim the owner is doing nothing to provide medical care for the animal.

But the owners claim the dog hurt himself trying to get out of the fence.

Police and animal control officers were called to the scene.

"These body shops, these junkyards these mechanic shops they have these dogs and they chain them all day they feed them very little and then at night they cut them loose to protect their property. So they don't really care about the welfare of the animal, they're exploiting them they are using them for their benefit," said Jessie Miller, with the Animal Cruelty Heartline of El Paso.

If you want to report animal cruelty in your area or are interested in helping abused animals you can call the Animal Cruelty Heartline of El Paso at 833-1737.
