Hoarding - 57 dogs Cleveland, OH (US)Incident Date: Thursday, Jul 31, 2003 County: Cuyahoga
Disposition: Alleged
Alleged: Forest G. Willcox
There were 57 dogs removed from the home of Forest Willcox after neighbors complained of a vile smell coming from the house.
There were animals found in the home, others were caged outside. Susan Ross of the Animal Protective League of Cleveland, said the dogs have been vaccinated, collared, neutered before they are put up for adoption.
Willcox said he was finding homes for the dogs and kept the males and females separated.
Mary Ann Mackojc, Willcox's niece, said they lived in the house for about 10 years and this was the first time a neighbor had complained.
Their neighbor who lives across the street, Justine Kasprik, said whenever she sat on her porch and the wind blew she could smell dog feces and urine.
Mackojc and Willcox agreed to voluntarily surrender the dogs to the Animal Protective League of Cleveland. References« OH State Animal Cruelty Map « More cases in Cuyahoga County, OH
